This is great news from the ADA

The McCarran-Ferguson act of 1945 has long since been a shroud that has allowed insurance companies to offer outrageous reimbursements for already competitively priced services. It was definitely one of the first steps in the wrong direction that has added to the state of today’s health insurance state.

However, after a lot of work from the ADA, advocate groups and individuals. A bill has recently been introduced to the Senate Floor. This will allow (the) “Federal Trade Commission and the Justice Department to enforce the federal antitrust laws against health insurance companies engaged in anticompetitive conduct but does not interfere with the states’ ability to enforce their own regulations, antitrust statutes and consumer protection laws” claims the ADA.

Help is still needed

We strongly urge you to read up on this a little more, so read the original ADA update here and please help them petition more Senators and State Reps by taking action here!
